The Wiltern Theatre is located at the Southeast corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Western Avenue. The Wiltern Theatre is a well established landmark in Los Angeles. It was built in 1931 and is an excellent example of Art Deco.Originally opened in 1931 as a movie theatre, The Wiltern Theatre was renovated and restored to its original splendor in 1985. It is currently a showcase for the performing arts and is recognized as Los Angeles' premiere monument to Art Deco architecture. The Wiltern Theatre has been named to the National Register of Historic Places and declared an Historic-Cultural Monument by the City of Los Angeles. The Wiltern is proud to be a member of the League of Historic American Theatres and The Western Alliance of Arts Administrators.
